SERIES: The Great Invite
SERMON: Come and See
SCRIPTURE: John 1:35-46
Review
The movement of Jesus has never been about simply attending services, singing songs, or hearing messages—it’s about actively moving together in faith.
Jesus’ first invitation to His disciples wasn’t a lecture or a demand but a simple call: “Come and See.”
John the Baptist pointed to Jesus and said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” His disciples saw and followed.
Andrew encountered Jesus and immediately invited his brother, Simon Peter, to meet Him.
Philip found Nathanael and invited him to come and see.
Nathanael was skeptical: “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” But Philip didn’t argue—he simply extended the invitation: “Come and See.”
This is how the movement of Jesus has always spread—by people experiencing Jesus and then inviting others to experience Him too.
The big question Jesus asks us all: What are you looking for?
Are you looking for success? Validation? Self-help?
Or are you looking for a life-changing, eternity-shifting encounter with the one true God?
Jesus doesn’t give a pre-packaged answer—He gives an invitation: Come and See.
Apply
Who invited you to experience Jesus? How did that change your life?
Who in your life needs to hear the invitation to Come and See?
What holds you back from inviting others? Fear? Awkwardness? Feeling unqualified?
Big Application Question: Who is ONE person you will personally invite to experience Jesus this week?
Pray
Ask God to open your eyes to see Jesus for who He truly is.
Pray for the courage to invite others, even if they respond skeptically.
Ask God to show you who in your life is waiting for an invitation to Come and See.
