SCRIPTURE: Acts 1:4–8
REVIEW
This week, we celebrated seven years of MetaChurch and looked at how God is leading us into 2026. The message centered on a spiritual rhythm seen throughout Scripture:
WORK FOR 6 — REST ON 7.
From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals a pattern of work and rest—not rest as escape, but rest as space for God to move.
We saw this rhythm in Acts 1–2:
Jesus told His followers to wait for the Holy Spirit.
They obeyed by praying together continually.
When the Spirit fell, they received power, and 3,000 people were saved in one day.
This showed us an important distinction:
The Spirit indwells every believer (salvation).
The Spirit also pours out on a gathered people (empowerment).
We cannot force an outpouring, but we can create the space through slowing down, waiting, and praying.
The conviction for MetaChurch is this:
We have rushed for six years. In year seven, we must learn to rest in the Lord, so we do not miss what His Spirit wants to do among us.
This is why, as we move into 2026, we are embracing more space, more prayer, more waiting, more listening, and more expectation for what the Holy Spirit wants to do in us and through us.
APPLY
This week, reflect honestly: Where am I rushing past the Holy Spirit?
Rushing shows up in many ways—hurrying through decisions, filling every margin, avoiding silence, ignoring conviction, or treating faith like something to “manage” instead of something to “receive.”
Take a moment to slow down and ask:
Where do I feel the need to control instead of wait?
Where is my life so full that I’ve left no room for God to speak?
What would it look like to create intentional space for prayer and listening this week?
What is ONE PRACTICE I can begin—quiet time, daily pause, Scripture reflection, prayer walk—to help me “rest on 7” and become more attentive to the Spirit?
What is ONE WAY you will make space for the Holy Spirit this week?
PRAY
Use these prompts to guide your time:
Thank God for seven years of His faithfulness to MetaChurch.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you slow down and listen rather than rush and strive.
Invite God to show you where you have been operating in your own strength.
Pray for our entire movement to experience a more profound unity in prayer, a posture of waiting, and readiness for whatever the Spirit wants to do.
Take time to be silent before God—creating the space where He often speaks most clearly.
