Message: From JUST to TRUST
REVIEW:
This weekend we learned how to be Available for what God wants to do in our lives this year. We saw in 2 Kings chapter 4, how the very thing the widow counted out, God was counting on! She thought she JUST had a little oil when God wanted her to TRUST that the oil was more than enough.
This is an easy trap to fall into. We all have areas of our life where we do not fill like we are enough. These are the "JUST's" in our life.
What are the areas in your life that you have counted out? Where have you put a JUST where God desires your Trust?
Elisha asked the widow to go and find as many containers as possible. Every empty container, God would miraculously fill with oil. The only thing limiting her intake was her output of effort in gathering these jars.
So often, we desire God's presence in our lives but have not made space for him in our daily routines and schedules.
Do you currently have space in your life for God to work? Are you available to how God wants to move in you?
APPLY:
The widow experienced God's provision when she made space available. She had to move from seeing her life through the lens of JUST to seeing what she had through the lens of TRUST. When she did this, God showed up in an unbelievable way.
APPLICATION: Each Team Member commit to one way you will apply these truths to your life THIS WEEK. Use the following questions to help:
How will you make yourself available for what God is wanting to do in and through you? What is one thing that is taking up too much room in your life that you need to give up?
What is one area of your life that you have counted out that you will begin to TRUST God with?
Applying the truth of God's word is how we change the world around us!
PRAY:
Spend some time praying together as a team. Ask that God would help each of us to be available this year. Ask the Holy Spirit to make clear the "JUST's" in our lives that we need to begin to TRUST God with.
Pray for this movement that we are a part of. Make it a habit to thank Jesus for giving his life so that we could live eternally with Him.
