REVIEW
This week in The Chosen King, we witnessed Mary’s spontaneous and powerful response to God’s work in her life. After receiving affirmation and prophetic blessing from her cousin Elizabeth, Mary bursts into a song of worship—what we now call the Magnificat. In this worship-filled moment, Mary shows us how to respond to the greatness of God.
Mary’s song is more than praise—it’s a prophetic declaration of who God is, what He does, and how we should posture ourselves before Him. Her words offer us a powerful pattern for living lives of true worship:
1. Mary REACTS (vv. 46–47)
Mary’s first instinct is to worship. She bursts out in joy and magnifies the Lord with her whole being.
Worship begins with awe. It’s our soul’s reaction to God’s greatness.
2. Mary RESPONDS (vv. 48–49)
Mary humbly acknowledges God’s goodness and favor toward her—a lowly servant.
True worship leads to humility. It reorients how we see ourselves and the world.
3. Mary REVERES (vv. 50–53)
Mary proclaims God’s mercy, justice, and Kingdom values. He lifts the lowly, fills the hungry, and brings down the proud.
Reverence means aligning our values with the upside-down Kingdom of God.
4. Mary REMEMBERS (vv. 54–55)
Mary closes her song by recalling God’s faithfulness to Israel and His promises to Abraham.
Remembering God’s past faithfulness builds present confidence and future hope.
