"THE SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANK ACTIVELY FIGHTS HUNGER AND FEEDS HOPE IN SAN ANTONIO AND SOUTHWEST TEXAS.
The Mission San Juan Community Farm is a unique partnership between the San Antonio Food Bank and the National Park Service. Their mission is to grow and distribute as much food as possible to our community, while empowering clients, school kids, volunteers, and anyone else who wants to learn more about growing food at home with skills they need to do so.
What can you expect when you volunteer?
Farm tasks will vary seasonally but volunteers most frequently aid in planting, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, and mulching.
Because the farm is exposed to the elements, be aware that working conditions will fluctuate with the weather. The fields remain muddy for several days after rain. Please wear shoes (preferably boots) and clothes that will keep you comfortable and you do not mind getting dirty.
