Series: Fulfilled

Sermon: The Real Jesus

Scripture: Luke 1:1–4

REVIEW

This week, we launched our Fulfilled series by looking at Luke’s introduction to his Gospel. Luke wrote to bring certainty—to help us know who Jesus truly is. We also saw that confusion about Jesus isn’t new. Even in the earliest decades after His resurrection, believers were tempted to follow false versions of Christ—distortions that looked close to the truth but led people astray.

We were challenged to examine whether we’ve settled for a counterfeit Jesus: a political Jesus, a self-help Jesus, a prosperity Jesus, or a cultural mascot Jesus. We were invited to surrender not to a Jesus made in our image but to the real Jesus—Messiah, Lord, and King.

APPLY

In a world full of misinformation, opinion, and selective truths, we must ask: What is shaping my picture of Jesus—and is it the Jesus of Scripture?

What is ONE WAY you will pursue a clearer picture of the real Jesus this week?

Maybe it’s by:

  • Committing to read Luke alongside this series.

  • Identifying a false view of Jesus you’ve unknowingly embraced.

  • Submitting to Jesus as King in an area where you've been in control.

PRAY

Ask God to reveal any false images of Jesus you’ve held onto. Ask Him to help you see Jesus clearly through the truth of His Word. Pray for the courage to submit to Jesus fully—even when it challenges your comfort or assumptions.
